Residenza di Ripetta is the ideal departure point from which to visit the rich
and very lively heart of Rome. The truly grandiose Piazza del Popolo is just meters
from the hotel and boasts the Basilica di Santa Maria del Popolo which houses
works by Pinturicchio, Rafael, Caravaggio and Bernini, and then there is the Ara
Pacis museum with its new Richard Meier glass and travertine shell, not to mention
the Spanish Steps which one reaches passing through the city’s greatest shopping
area – via Condotti, via Borgogna and via Frattina.
Rome is a city rife with fascinating history, but its daily life is often just
as unforgettable. Strolling through the streets that go from being wide and grandiose
to narrow and delightfully secretive, we see nature as it bursts through among
the monuments, we hear the sounds and smell the aromas of the open-air markets,
we feel the friendliness of the people as they carry on with their business or
greet us in a coffee shop or restaurant.
